I just finished the templates for 2 new patterns! I can't tell you all what a relief it is to have that part finished! I dread it the most! Designing, choosing colors, making the sample, photographing it, writing directions are all fine....but drawing clean and sharp pattern templates is my least favorite part. The other fun part is adding them to my website! It still amazes me how easy Donna's Shopping Cart is! After 6 years of having a website that I had to struggle with when ever I wanted to add a new pattern.

P.S. If you want to take a look, they are the Sheep Table Runner and Chicken & Eggs Wool Applique Patterns...they are on my page called New Items.

Hi fellow-crafters - This is my creative time and every minute I'm online, I'm away from my first love - making greeting cards! Right now I'm working on new birthday cards. My cards have fabric designs which I cut out all year round - I've stockpiled quite a few and my studio counter is backed up with about 30 designs to work up and turn into Kalico Kards! In the midst of all this, the TV room where I spend the rest of my time when not in my studio is in need of a makeover! It's fun to switch crafts once in a while - it certainly gets the creative juices flowing in a new direction. We've picked the wallpaper (for one wall) and the paint (for the other 3), we've already ordered the new furniture and a large throw rug for in the middle of it all. My spirit is excited and that's the energy that will see me through it all. Happy to be a part of your creative bunch!

Using an old vintage school desk as a canvas. I'm painting something primitive on the top and using the same color scheme throughout the desk and chair. Heaven! Rita @ TesoroFino.com<</a>/i>

Hello, I'm new to the group.. just joined Biz Bodies today. I've been a tole painter since my kids were small.. I've done many local shows but never really branched out, the opportunity came last year for me to have my own business, so we jumped at it.. I now have a online business selling wood kits that are ready to paint. I also love PSP9 and graphics. I'm happy to be here and look forward to meeting everyone.

I love creating anything I can with vintage chenille. I have a website called "Mimi's Rose Chenille Boutique" and sell shabby cottage fabrics, plus teacup lights, vintage chenille bedspreads and make these cute Chenille Bunnies. I also have a blog Mimi's Rose Chenille Boutique Blog where each month I have a "Blog Giveaway", check out the "Blog Giveaway" for this month, it's wonderful, if I do say so myself. Everything on the website is designed and created by me. On the blog each Friday, you will find something special for sale! I am also a member of Friday Flea Market, another great networking place. Please visit my website or blog. Here's a picture of the Shabby Chic Bunnies!

I was waiting for someone to start a discussion and none so far. sooo ... I will start one.
I have been a crafter for many years but only started doing craft shows and selling about 1985. I lived in MIchigan for many years and was always going to craft shows . I was so interested and made crafts for family and friends.. they began to ask why I didn't sell at shows.. and i didn't think I was good enough to compete. One day while feeling more confident I picked up the phone and called about entering a huge jurored show in my area. They ask me to bring some of my work out to be judged. They were interested in my work but told me there was a long waiting list.. but they took my name and phone number.. in less than a week, I had a call from them asking if I could be ready for a two-day show in six weeks. Being the optomist that I am, I replied..." Sure , I can."
Needless to say I got myself into a sewing mode and went to work. I wound up with a good showing and had good response to my crafts.. I almost sold out and thought" I have found my niche !!!" I have been an avid crafter since that time.
Needless to say, it has not always been that succesful but that didn't discourage me and after many years and many changes in the styles , fabric choices, and designs, I am still as excited when I start a doll as I was then..
After moving to Missouri, I bought a computer and did I know anything about a computer ??? A word processor was the closest thing but I bought every " self-help" book that I could find. I looked at country/prim websites.. I thought, " I CAN DO THAT "... WRONG !!
I tried the free do it yourself websites.. I have always been a perfectionist and when my efforts looked so unprofessional, I decided " I NEED HELP, HERE !!"
I began to look at websites in a different way , just waiting until I found one that suited my style..
THEN I FOUND DONNA....YEP, SHE'S THE ONE FOR ME !!!
Since that time Donna has made at least three websites for me and I've been happy with every one.. I like changes so when I would feel the need for change... I'd call Donna and we'd work out a new and different one.. What a gift she has !!
I know I worried her when I first started but she never gave up on me or even acted like " What are you thinking, girl ...you'll never succeed..!"
That's not Donna... she is an encourager and I love her.

Well, that is just a teeny weeny bit of my experience as a crafter.. I love it...it's my one true passion !!

More to come later...
